I’m used to taper – it was my favorite time of year during swim season. Yardage goes does down, morning practices disappear and it’s a time of relaxation.
It is now the much anticipated taper time in my half-marathon program.
But then it’s beach time!
So I am balancing taper with my natural tendency to do a little extra with a week in my swim suit just around the corner. Therefore, tomorrow morning I take to the streets for one last long-ish training run before the final countdown is on and I really have to stay away from the sweets and treats as I tread towards the finish line.
