My Green Smoothie

I am a dedicated morning-exerciser. It may be the 15+ years of swimming engrained in my brain, but I can’t feel awake in the morning until I break a sweat. And for the past 9 months, part of my morning routine has been this green smoothie. It’s basic, delicious, rich in nutrients and fuels me after my morning training sessions.





  • Handful of spinach
  • 1 banana
  • few strawberries
  • few chunks of pineapple
  • scoop of Greek yogurt
  • splash of almond milk or OJ over the top

Blend in a mini-blender (I have a Magic Bullet, but any equivalent will work) until the spinach is completely mixed. Keep chilled until ready to drink.

I’m looking forward to the morning already, with this batch ready to go in the fridge tonight! What are your favorite additions in your go-to smoothie recipe?
